Jeera rice

Just a simple variation of white rice which can be had with any vegetable gravy.


How to cook Jeera rice...
This is what you need:


1 cup Basmati rice
1 tbsp cumin/jeera seeds
1 onion chopped into thin strips
4 slit green chilli
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste.


This is what you do:


Soak the rice for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan. Add the Cumin seeds and let it splutter.
Add the onions, green chilies and ginger garlic paste.
Saute till the onions become slightly brown.
Add the rice and mix it well.
Now add 1 1/2 cups of water.
Let it simmer for 15 minutes.
Jeera rice is ready to be served.
